Erick Allen loves his community, a fact that drives his desire to serve his neighbors as commissioner in the District 2 seat on the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.
If elected, the job will be the next chapter in more than two decades of public service for Allen, a small business owner working as a consultant focusing on workforce performance and development. Of his many experiences in serving others, the District 2 Commission post might offer the greatest opportunity to help.
“I have learned that the closer you are to the people, the better impact you can have,” Allen said. “When the D2 seat became open I saw an opportunity to continue my service and have a greater impact on the families of Cobb County.”
Allen is matched against Republican Alicia Adams in the April 29 special election and has been out meeting with voters, asking them for their votes.
“I am the only candidate in this race with the experience to deliver on a more responsive, transparent, and effective government that works for all Cobb families,” Allen said.
Allen offers a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to Cobb County. For over two decades, Allen has actively served his community, serving in the Georgia House of Representatives, contributing to various service boards, and more.
As Commissioner, he pledges to hold corporate polluters accountable. Additionally, he is committed to enhancing the mental health safety net and providing necessary services to the vulnerable homeless population.
Understanding the challenges of growth, Allen advocates a balanced approach, ensuring all residents have access to affordable housing and reliable transportation. His leadership style is marked by transparency and responsiveness, dedicated to making government work for every Cobb family.
Allen’s extensive experience includes moving forward meaningful legislation as a member of the Georgia House. His educational background, including an MBA from Kennesaw State University, equips him with the analytical skills needed for effective governance.
Allen’s commitment to mental health advocacy is well-recognized. He was named the 2021 Legislator of the Year by the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network, and the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse renamed their Advocate of the Year award in his honor. He is married to Dr. Tameka Allen, an orthodontist and they have a daughter, Elise.
In the April 29 special election, Allen is the candidate with the vision, experience, and dedication to lead District 2 toward a brighter future. His proven track record and commitment to the community make him the clear choice for Cobb County District 2 Commissioner.
“I look forward to serving my neighbors in District 2,” Allen said. “I understand and appreciate the rich diversity of Cobb County and that our best days are ahead of us and not behind us.”
